The Etruscans Private Tour

Discover the Etruscans, a mysterious people on this all day private tour. We will begin in Tarquinia,one of the most ancient of Etruscan cities and was considered to be the chief of the twelve cities of Etruria. From this town, many religious rites and ceremonies of Rome are said to have originated here. This city holds some of the masterpieces of Etruscan art and monuments. More discoveries still awaits as there are currently more archaeological digs taking place to dig deeper into the history of the Etruscans.

Next we will visit the town of Cerveteri or "City of the dead", which is famous for some of the best Etruscan tombs discovered. We will visit the Necropolis which holds thousands of tombs. There are two different types of tombs located here. One is called a "mound" type and the other "dice". The jewel of the city is considered to be the Tarquinia Museum which houses Etruscan exhibits and items excavated near the Necropolis.
